On behalf of the European Parliament’s Social Economy Intergroup, we are delighted to invite you to its next public hearing on The role of the social economy in shaping the Future of Work, that will take place on Wednesday 31st January from 1pm to 3pm at the European Parliament (room JAN4Q2). Please find attached and hereunder the agenda of the public hearing.
The aim of this public hearing is to debate about how the social economy contributes to shape a fairer future of work, in the current context of acceleration of the transformations of the world of work. The main speakers will be Nicolas Schmit, Minister for Labour, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy; Tadej Slapnik, State Secretary in the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia; Baudouin Baudru, Expert at the cabinet of Commissioner Thyssen, responsible for social economy policies; Vic Van Vuuren, Director of the Enterprises Department of the ILO; Juan Antonio Pedreño, President of Social Economy Europe, and Giuseppe Guerini, President of CECOP-CICOPA Europe. The event will be presented and moderated by Elena Gentile MEP (S&D, IT) and Ramón Luis Valcárcel, Vice-President of the European Parliament (EPP, ES), and Patrick Develtere, Principal Adviser on European Social Policy at the European Political Strategy Centre, will be in charge of the closing conclusions.
